Your Time Will Come: The Boomerang Effect!

James 2

KJV

13+ For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.

Matthew 7

KJV

12+ Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

Luke 6

KJV

31+ And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

Growing up at Kokomlemle I watched several films at the Orion Cinema Hall depicting fights between American Indians and cowboys of the West. I saw in the hands of the Indians a circular-shaped object with which they fought the cowboys ; which object I later learnt is called a “ boomerang “

It’s an object that has a rope attached, it flies when thrown to hit a target and returns to the thrower because of the rope attached.

James brown made a song “ Papa’s got a brand new bag “ in which he mentioned the “ boomerang ‘l

In philosophical terms the boomerang represents what’s called the “ cause and effect “ or “ action and reaction“ equal and opposite   Some call it the law of Khama.

What I know is what Paul said;

Galatians 6

KJV

7+ —-: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

To which Jesus also attached a cautionary warning ;

Luke 6

KJV

31+ And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

This statement is a cautionary warning meant to prompt us to think twice if and when we are about to do something to someone! Something we hardly do! We vent our anger, say things, and use words that under normal conditions we would not use. Yes

An old wise saying goes like this “When annoyed or angry, don’t do anything so when your anger subside you’ll have nothing to undo”   If you do, you must undo! If you didn’t do anything there is nothing to undo!

Unfortunately, words once spoken can not be recalled or withdrawn! The harm ( effect) caused can be forgiven but not what was said!

I have with me in my diary Words used by some ; or like stones that were thrown at me, which I still remember vividly as if it were yesterday! Words I can not forget which will go with me to my Grave!

You see, at primary school, I was taught to always read with pen and paper by my side to take down new words that I come across.

When I grew up this paper and pen translated

Into a pocket diary! So I record “ strange words “  hmmm!

The long and short of it is this, whatever we do to some today shall be done to us in time to come.

We should expect to be disrespected just as we are doing to others today. We should expect insults just as we are doing to some today. We should expect to be evil spoken of as we do today.

We should not be surprised when we are respected by people who deemed it so ; and it is because we did the same to others when we were younger.

So those who today think they will show disrespect and insult should know that the same shall be done to them. Their time will come.

Life’s actions are like a boomerang! You throw it and it returns to you. Respect and you’ll be respected, honour and you’ll be honoured, obey and you'll be obeyed   Follow and you’ll be followed.

A word to the wise is enough. What I’ve learnt from experience and observation these I share with you!
