The Mystery Of A Day
Matthew 6
KJV
34+ Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
I woke up to this verse firmly rooted in my mind, and I then paused to reflect and think of its meaning and implications. Here is what I came up with, which I share with you! What Is A Day?
A day is like a journey that begins from the very hour we wake. The moment your eyes open is as if you’ve landed at an airport and the plane has taxied to a stop.
Coming out of the bedroom is like walking through the arrival immigration checkpoint and your praying and composing yourself before you leave the bedroom is like collecting your luggage from the roller.
The first person(s) you meet and greet are your arrival team waiting to receive and welcome you. Do you notice how every first morning greeting is said with a broad smile? Yes indicating joy and happiness for seeing each other. Just as happens at every reception point.
The newness and mystery of each day is like entering a town for the first time not knowing what goes on unless you get there. Everything you see or hear is new!
Every day we see, we hear and we say new things. Every day’s experience is new!
A day is full of mysteries as nobody knows what it holds in store for them! Some miscalculations, misjudgments will be made because everything is new, you are encountering them for the first time.
People you’ll meet will tell you things you’ve not heard before. They’ll ask questions you’ve not thought about; all combined will put stress on your mind as you listen trying to make sense of whatever you hear! The questions will task your mind to think.
Every encounter, every experience is new! Even if you think it is a routine it is always new because there is always an addition to what existed yesterday
A day is indeed a journey, you have never walked through it before. It is for this reason that you must begin each day well prepared spiritually, mentally and emotionally. For you don’t know the challenges, trials, temptations etc. that may come your way.
Focus therefore on the day in hand and not that of tomorrow, take each day ( journey) seriously. I am persuaded to believe that this is what Jesus meant.
Matthew 6:34
NIV
[34] Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Therefore enjoy today’s “ journey “ as I write this it’s seven (7) am, my plane just landed and I am getting ready to step out of it. I am yet to meet a welcoming party to say good morning!
Enjoy the beauty of the day, have fun do not over stress yourself. Admire everything! It is a journey enjoy the trip, soon departure time ( night) will come and announcements will be made asking you to board your flight back to bed!
My thoughts to share, each day is indeed a mystery. You’ve never walked through it before. May God grant you the wisdom to go through the journey of today.
