Vindication Of Truth: It Takes Time, In Praise Of Acapella

19+ Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

Lies and falsehood run faster than truth, bad news sells faster than the good, gossip, rumours, toli etc gain supporters than truth.

In every sphere of human activities be it secular or spiritual falsehoods are given better time and audience! It has always taken a longer time for Truth to gain support

I’ve said these to make the case of a cappella singing. Though we have taught/preached these to the public over the years it is now that the truth and beauty of it is being felt.

On social media today, we see several congregations showcasing the beauty of this type/style of singing as they live-stream their worship services.

There are also the various youth-dominated singing groups that are live-streaming their activities. These have made the church of Christ very attractive; confirming the truth of singing as taught in the NT scriptures

You don’t have to sing with instruments to touch the heart, vocal verbal singing does it better It helps reflect and ponder over the words one sings. It helps in silent meditation which is spiritual!

Truly it will take time for the truth that we preach /teach to gain ground in Ghana! What is needed is how to design and package them. This calls for prayer and wisdom.

We must explore ways to communicate these truths, which is a leadership challenge!

With deep knowledge and insight into the scriptures, we should be able to tell what is right and can be done without violating any given passage of scripture

Scripture ( Bible ) and not emotional attachment to tradition must be the rule. I’ve said before that “ some traditions are hallowed mistakes. Time and practice have made them to be true, though they have no scriptural base”.

My take on the positive impact a acapella singing is making on the religious space in Ghana today.
