A Case Study Of The Unforgiving Spirit Of Social Media
Kofi Extrovert was an outgoing, very vivacious guy right from his elementary school days. He had several nicknames each describing his multi-faceted behaviour!
If it comes to defying authority’s he was called “ go man go”! It comes to acts of vandalism at the dining hall he was called “ one man no chop” If it comes to chasing girls he was called “ Aturu Pepe” Oh he was a delight to watch!
Such was his attitude that he made absenting oneself from school a regret because you’ll miss his shows and displays.
This lifestyle continued with him to the university where he was SRC president and later NUG’s president!
At the university, he improved on his acts of indiscipline which was how the University authorities described it! He did worse than he did at the lower levels.
Upon graduating he was attracted to politics and made efforts to enter which he did as he was the type political parties needed to undertake their “ dirty games”! Rabble rousers they called them
He was very successful in helping his party win the general elections of 1844 and was earmarked to take up the position of minister of state responsible for foreign affairs!
However, here is where his problems began! At his vetting hearing, several have sent petitions to the committee in charge of the vetting process.
Among the exhibits sent were clips, pictures, audios etc depicting him at his best from primary to university. All these were retrieved from the archives of the various social media handles He used. Many including ladies lined up to testify against him.
The date was set to hear him, on that day all the clips and audios were played to the hearing of the audience and were telecast live! It was not only hilarious but shameful!
Although he fits the Ministry, he asked to be relieved as he doesn’t know how he can perform!
What is the lesson?
Social media will give back to you what you sent there at a time you least expect. Social media never forgets, it is active all day/year round. So be careful!
If in doubt, Google your name and you'll be shown what you said where and when. Do not be like Aturu Pepe!
Those who take delight in washing the church’s dirty linen in public should not be surprised when the church’s “enemies” throw this very same dirt back at them!
A word to the wise
