To Whom Shall We Go?

By John Tamakloe

To Whom Shall We Go?

John 6
KJV
68+ Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

To whom shall we go is a question to ask when one is at a crossroads! When things are not falling in place after you’ve tried and done all that is necessary, and yet.

The realities of life can put you as it were in a tight corner such that you become frustrated. In a situation where reason has failed, human help is not forthcoming, desperation has set in and you are at your wit’s end.

Here is where Peter’s response comes in handy! Turn to Jesus!

Many a time this simple three-word sentence is not understood in practical terms! What does it mean to “turn to Jesus”  in practice?

It means going to Him through prayers, meditating on His Word, and reflecting, all done in the quiet and alone. Cry, weep, etc., if you can; these will come automatically as the heart is overburdened with grief!

Jesus is our only hope in times of trial! Remain calm and gentle no matter how long it takes; the storms will come to pass! Just anchor firmly in Christ.

Let the words of the popular hymn “Will your anchor hold”  encourage you ;

We have an anchor that keeps the soul
Stedfast and sure while the billows roll,
Fastened to the Rock which cannot move,
 Grounded firm and deep in the Savior’s love”.
