**They Will All Not Fade**
Ecclesiastes 2
KJV
16+ For there is no remembrance of the wise more than of the fool for ever; seeing that which now is in the days to come shall all be forgotten. And how dieth the wise man? as the fool.
I was privileged recently to come across some old pictures of some family members. The discovery was a delight as I’ve only heard about them but not seen any images to connect to the stories and legends I was told.
Indeed, I am blessed with legendary ancestors and the discovery was a joy because, apparently I was named after one of them as tradition demanded!!
What struck me and inspired this article was the various shades and conditions of the pictures. Some were bright as if they were taken recently, others were disfigured, hazy, and not that clear. I found it difficult to recognise.
Then came to mind this thought, our names, contributions and exploits, how will they sound or look to those who are not privileged to see us alive? Our pictures, both in word or deed
Like the pictures I saw, some names will sound to hearers as if they’ve met them before, others will struggle to recall them! We do the same today when some names are mentioned! Some will fade others will remain intact.
As an example, just look at Ghana’s history, the most popular person each generation of Ghanaians “sees” every day is Kwame Nkrumah! While others have faded with the passage of time only to be remembered occasionally!
The Truth is every name, good or bad is linked to or associated with something! What will our names be associated with? Some pictures fade others remain intact, the same will be with our names. Some will be forgotten, others will be remembered
“Gone but not forgotten”, let this be what your name will evoke when mentioned anywhere at any time! Each day of our lives, we are making history how will yours be read?
Think on these
