The Seemingly Disappointments Of Faith
Hebrews 11
KJV
13+ These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
It may sound strange to read the title of this article! Yes, Faith can and does disappoint! The scriptures read “ These all died in faith, not having received the promises,”.
It is not all that we wished for, which was promised by God that will come to us during our lifetime! Some may, others may not. Some of the promises of God to us are generational both in nature and content; it will take time; others are instant.
If we can understand and accept that this is how things work with God we shall not be frustrated if things we hoped for never materialise in our lifetime! We should be content to let them pass by us.
As the scriptures said the men of old saw the signs and assured themselves that they would truly come to pass. “Having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them”,
Beloved, we are laying a foundation but if it so happens that we never live to complete the building, we are persuaded that surely our building shall be completed.
Beloved, what have you started, don’t give up on it despite the challenges you are encountering Just trust that it shall be completed by the next generation! It is not a “disappointment “ that you could not complete it in your lifetime
The old did the same they acknowledged that they are strangers here with limited time.
“and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.”
Do therefore what you can and leave the rest to posterity! Lay the foundation and leave the rest! This is what Paul meant when he wrote ;
1 Corinthians 3
KJV
10+ According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
