The Power Of A Collective Will

The Power Of A Collective Will

Matthew 18

KJV

18+ Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

When we were teenagers we often went out seeking adventure, we “ invaded” territories that were “no-go areas” for outsiders. Our mission was simple to “chase the girls” in that community.

Yes, you read it! Years we spent in vanity and pride, caring not that Jesus died, knowing not it was us He died at Calvary. Now we know!

We knew very well that the “ area boys” would resist and fight us but we trusted in our numbers. That was Accra then, areas such as Adabraka, Osu were our targets!

We go out with the mindset that our collective strengths will work wonders for us, and it did in most cases except for a few.

The same mindset, the collective will; is what the above scriptures are teaching us, that whatever we wish, if we pool our spiritual strengths we shall record success because it receives Divine approval.

Here is where we’ve failed as a people. The foundational theology teaches that this was said to the apostles and since we are not it does not apply in our time.

Yes, we are not “apostles “ but the “principle” remains the same. Pool individual spiritual resources together and you attain results as it will certainly receive Divine approval. Period!

It is on this basis that we offer collective congregational prayers for the sick, the needy, the oppressed etc seeking relief and recovery for them.

What we lose on earth is loosed in Heaven, what we bind is bound These scriptures inspired the all-night prayer sessions that many engaged in with resounding results!

The “spiritual poverty” of the church lies in her failure to understand this very verse of scripture! Our prayers are nothing but “ ma tra makwèî”. “Try and see,” it is not based on faith.

Well as Jesus said, “ as your faith is so be it unto you !”

There is spiritual strength and power in the collective. Whatever they bind is bound, whatever they loosen is loosed. This is a divine privilege that many have denounced.

In our case, we pray without certainty whereas we are told to pray with certainty.  Read it;

Mark 11

KJV

23+ For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Mark 11

KJV

24+ Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Did you get what this verse says? Ask ( pray) with certainty “ believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them!”

Oh, what a privilege we’ve forfeited!

We must encourage collective prayer sessions since this is the way we can pool spiritual power to bind and loosen anything, this shall receive divine approval!

My take.
