The Inner Circle Concept

Matthew 17

KJV

1+ And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,

“Love all, trust a few; do wrong to none “ is a quote attributed to William Shakespeare from his play “ All’s well that ends well”

This suggests that even though we should love all men, we should limit our trust to a few ( inner circle) while ensuring that we do wrong to none.

This pattern or thought of living can be found expressed practically on the pages of Holy Writ, by the Lord. He had twelve disciples but on a few occasions, he always resorted to three (3) of them, namely Peter, James and John.

Some things are known only to these three one is what you’ve just read, the event that took place on the Mount, popularly referred to as the “ Mount of Transfiguration”

There are a few others, read them!

Mark 5

KJV

37+ And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.

Mark 14

KJV

33+ And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy;

Almost every leader both past and present has an “inner circle” to share his inner thoughts, fears and joys; these serve as pillars that support him in critical times and moments.

Because of the “uncertainties” of life and the lack of trust in the majority, it is a wise decision to have an inner circle.

Here is a caution to be observed when constituting an inner circle; it should not be a “ crowd “ but a “ company” there is a difference!   A “ company”  of people with refined thoughts, culture, manners, aspirations etc. Persons who have something to offer, value addition etc. to your life, not the other way round.

An inner circle provides cover and shelter as they filter out fake friends. They provide comfort when it is most needed. They provide objective opinions that help shape direction in life.

If and when all else fails, when you face rejection and ridicule etc, these are there to support and sustain you no matter what!

Beloved, everyone needs someone, Jesus took Peter, James and John, who do you have?

This is not an easy question nor a task it needs prayers, discernment and wisdom to answer.

“Yes, love all, trust a few, do wrong to none “ there are fakes out there parading as genuine friends. Be careful and wise not to allow just anyone into your inner circle.

Many a life is in ruins, dreams, aspirations, shattered because of the wrong people they allowed into their “inner circle”, we all at a point in time made such mistakes before, but never again!

Now that you know! Jesus had an inner circle, please get one! A word to the wise.

Ps.

I am applying for a place in your inner circle, at the same time I am receiving applications from any interested in being part of mine!
