The Hidden Reward:A Testimony

By John Tamakloe

The Hidden Reward: A Testimony.

Galatians 6

KJV

7+ Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Proverbs 21

KJV

21+ He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.

The two scriptures above are statements, confirmations, and recommendations; they are also universal spiritual and physical laws!

Sowing and reaping is common knowledge to everyone hence no need to belabor it. What is often not highlighted is the fact that not every sowing is deliberate, some are done unknowingly

This aspect of sowing was brought home to me when I received a blessing from someone who said he was a recipient/beneficiary of a “seed” I sowed.

This “stranger” tried to remind me of the “when”, “where” and “how” this “seed” was sown but I could not remember! He confirmed that yes, I was not aware of what I was doing at the time!

This brought to mind two other scriptures ;

Ecclesiastes 11

KJV

1+ Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days.

The other, the parable of the Sower;

Luke 8

KJV

5+ A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.

Beloved there are many a seed we’ve sown unintentionally the results of which we shall reap at the appropriate time. Be they good or bad!

While thinking through this encounter the following scripture also came to mind ;

Galatians 6

KJV

9+ And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

God loving /fearing people will give back to us what we give out consciously or otherwise! Some in pursuit of a cause they believed to be just not to seek recognition ended up being recognised.

Take the case of the ongoing activities of the group known as the “Bus Stop Boys”. Their pursuit of keeping drainages open and clean has won them national recognition

This also confirms what the writer of the Proverbs letter said ;

Proverbs 21

KJV

21+ He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.

That we get what we deserve as a result of what we do is a true observation in life.

Follow the path of evil and you’ll get evil paid back to you. In the same way as following the path of righteousness, you’ll get righteousness credited in return.

The question then is which path are we walking, and where is it leading to? Pause for a moment to think over this.

Here are a few “ follow afters” that are worth considering ;

Romans 14

KJV

19+ Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.

Psalms 34

KJV

14+ Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

Hebrews 12

KJV

14+ Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

Whatever we sow, knowingly or unknowingly (good or bad) we shall receive payments.

A testimony to share
