The Defiance Of Faith

Micah 7

KJV

8+ Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.

9 I will bear the indignation of the Lord, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness

.

10+ Then she that is mine enemy shall see it, and shame shall cover her which said unto me, Where is the Lord thy God? mine eyes shall behold her: now shall she be trodden down as the mire of the streets.

You’ve heard it said, “the downfall of a man is never the end of his life “ or “ as long as there is breath there is hope “. This is exactly what the above scriptures indicate.

In life, there will come a time when all will give way; losses will be incurred, a once-promising future can collapse within seconds, and a once-thriving company can go under.

From the above scriptures, that is exactly what the writer was alluding to: a man has gone down and become a laughingstock, yet he was unwilling to accept defeat.

As I write,  many who were once thriving very well are going through tough times! A situation that has subjected them to mockery and ridicule!

But as seen from the passage, they are standing tall through Faith. They believe that even if it is God who is behind their adversities they will still trust Him to bring it to pass.

This we call “ the defiance of faith”,

Yes though God will cause “grief”  yet He will never forsake

Lamentations 3

KJV

32+ But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.

Psalms 37

KJV

23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.

24+ Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.

David expresses it like this ;

Psalms 23

KJV

4+ Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

So yes, you’ll experience setbacks in life but do not let them overcome you. Yes, you’ll be mocked and ridiculed yet let your faith remain deeply rooted in God. Just be and remain focused, order your ways no matter how long it takes redemption will come.

Like the prophet, let these words ring continuously in your ears. “When I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.”

Maranatha!
