So Walk

By John Tamakloe

So Walk

Colossians 2

KJV

6+ As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:

How we walk in Christ is of great interest and concern hence the Apostle Paul emphasised this in his letters to the believers. Read some;

**Colossians** 1

KJV

10+ That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

1 **Thessalonians** 4

KJV

1+ Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.

**Ephesians** 4

KJV

1+ I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

He even challenged them to imitate him;

**Philippians** 4

KJV

9+ Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

But why is this (walk) so important one may ask? It is because how we walk indicates whose children we are, which home we are coming from, and who taught and trained us! Etc.

At school, I was taught that when a thought, idea, instruction etc; is expressed in several writings, it means that the thought, idea, etc is of great importance hence I must pay attention to it. This is exactly what we are reading from Paul’s letters.

Beloved,  our walk reflects who and whose we are. The name Christian we are told was given to the Believers in Antioch as a result of how they “walked! “

Ever wondered why friends call you by the name they call you? The answer should be obvious to you – your walk! Please get this right, “ walk” here does not mean literally how you take steps! But the entirety of the life you lead. Common characteristics!

If this is the case, then walk in a manner to be known and called by a name that truly reflects who you are. At the mention of your name, everyone should know who you are! This is indeed a great challenge!

Paul puts it like this;

Ephesians 4

KJV

1+ I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

My take on how we walk!
