Regrets: Who Is Without One ?
Matthew 26
KJV
34+ Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.
74 Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.
75+ And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.
None can beat his/her chest for not having made a decision that he/she regretted thereafter! The above scripture confirms the fact that all do have regrets. This is the case of Peter! It is recorded to teach us!
Peter went out and wept bitterly, after which he resolved not to repeat this act. This explains why when the Chief priest and his elders warned him and the others not to speak in the name of Jesus, he stood his ground and made this bold defiant statement

Acts 4
KJV
18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
19+ But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
20+ For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
Dear reader, have your regrets in life taught you any lessons?
When Joseph’s brothers regretted their criminal, and hideous wrong that they committed, they went to seek forgiveness and reconciliation! A commendable example they left us!
Unfortunately in our case, we uphold our regretful mood and defend it by saying “ makà à makà, ma yè a ayè mayô” A hardening of the heart!
Even Judas of all people, regretted his actions and attempted to seek forgiveness but missed it! Because he went to the wrong place, and to the wrong people Unfortunately this is what many do!
Not so with the prodigal son, he knew whom he had wronged so when he regretted his actions he took steps to ask for forgiveness and to seek reconciliation. Read it;
Luke 15
KJV
18+ I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
Like the prodigal son, get up and go to the wronged, and say “ l am no more worthy to be called your friend, take me as one of your acquaintances “.
Regret, is a prick or a prompt of the conscience so listen to your conscience when it pricks or prompts you. The majority are suffering under the weight of numerous regrets.
You can see this through their gloomy facial mood, their joys are gone! A once vibrant, fun-loving, loud outburst of laughter has become quiet! Yes. They are emotionally dead as their consciences continue to accuse them!
We can pretend but we cannot hide the truth. The effects of unattended to regrets show outwardly and the discerning can see.
Beloved, restore the joy you once had, anytime your conscience accuses and makes you guilty please act! Do not let them linger for long. This is the sure way to know you are in God’s good book!

1 John 3:19-21
NIV
[19] This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: [20] If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. [21] Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God
( Put the word “ conscience “ in place of “ heart” and you’ll see how unattended to regrets affect us spiritually) Read the above again!
