On That Day

Joshua 4

KJV

14+ On that day the Lord magnified Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they feared Moses, all the days of his life.

Do you know that of all the things we do in life, only one is truly important and defines our existence and magnifies us? What is that, one may ask? Very simple, anything with which your name is associated!

As read above, the crossing of the Jordan under the leadership of Joshua was his defining moment; how he organised, went about it, etc., culminating in a successful crossing established him as a leader; consequently, he received endorsement from the people.

The event and outcome were described in these words , “ God magnified Joshua in the sight of all Israel “ What can we learn from this? That God magnifies people but He does it through works of obedience. He creates opportunities for us which when utilIzed becomes our glorification/exaltation

Therefore do not overlook or ignore any assignment that comes to you; it is God’s way of seeking to magnify you. We glorify ( magnify) God through obedience and He in turn exalts us!

A one day, spontaneous activity may be what God has designed for your glorification   The Widow of Zarephath’s one-day encounter with Elijah defined and established her name in scripture.

The woman who anointed Jesus’ feet with oil was glorified forever because of that one-day encounter and action.

The widow who gave her last in the temple on that day received commendation/glorification!

The boy who gave the loaves and fish to feed the thousands was glorified in the scriptures,

These are all instantaneous events that brought them glorification! So do not underestimate the instantaneous!

Of all that you’ve done before, that little help you gave someone by the roadside at that odd hour may be the greatest thing you’ve ever done in life that pleased God hence your glorification!  Now you know!!
