(Part 2)","oh-memories-in-defence-of-ignorance-part-2","\u003Cp>Oh Memories: In Defence of Ignorance!&nbsp;\u003Cbr>(Part 2)\u003Cbr>Amos 5\u003Cbr>KJV\u003Cbr>13+ Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it is an evil time.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>&nbsp;\u003C/p>\u003Cp>In the previous post, I decried knowledge and affirmed that it is more of a curse than a power as is often portrayed.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>&nbsp;\u003C/p>\u003Cp>Following in the tradition of Solomon I realized that indeed much learning is a weariness of the flesh a fact that many a learned person will not tell you for fear of class rejection!\u003C/p>\u003Cp>&nbsp;\u003C/p>\u003Cp>Read it;\u003Cbr>Ecclesiastes 12\u003Cbr>KJV\u003Cbr>12+ And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>&nbsp;\u003C/p>\u003Cp>Ecclesiastes 1\u003Cbr>KJV\u003Cbr>18+ For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>&nbsp;\u003C/p>\u003Cp>What else can I say, these are words coming from the world’s most accomplished and heralded wise man &nbsp; Hear him again &nbsp;“ he that increaseth knowledge increaseth Sorrow”!\u003C/p>\u003Cp>&nbsp;\u003C/p>\u003Cp>This is coming from a man who by today’s standard would have been awarded the Pulitzer Prize in addition to the Nobel Peace Prize.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>&nbsp;\u003C/p>\u003Cp>Read his output; he had no coequal then, let alone today!\u003C/p>\u003Cp>1 Kings 4\u003Cbr>KJV\u003Cbr>32+ And he spake three thousand proverbs: and his songs were a thousand and five.\u003Cbr>33 And he spake of trees, from the cedar tree that is in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that springeth out of the wall: he spake also of beasts, and of fowl, and of creeping things, and of fishes.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>&nbsp;\u003C/p>\u003Cp>Such was his fame that many came from far and near to listen to him; read it\u003C/p>\u003Cp>&nbsp;\u003C/p>\u003Cp>34 And there came of all people to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, which had heard of his wisdom.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>&nbsp;\u003C/p>\u003Cp>Outwardly, &nbsp;an intellectual would brag and boast but inwardly he knows how tiresome and wearisome the burden he carries for being intelligent!\u003C/p>\u003Cp>&nbsp;\u003C/p>\u003Cp>He stays deep into the night writing, thinking, reading etc pondering over questions and issues of life concerning people! His Family life suffers!\u003C/p>\u003Cp>&nbsp;\u003C/p>\u003Cp>He wished he could turn down the many invitations so he could rest his soul, &nbsp;mind and body but can not because of the temporal pride, happiness and privilege he enjoys! A vanity!\u003C/p>\u003Cp>&nbsp;\u003C/p>\u003Cp>You’ve heard the saying “ uneasy lies the head that wears the crown “Yes, &nbsp;that’s exactly an admission of the vanity of knowledge!\u003C/p>\u003Cp>Instead of power &nbsp; it is rather a curse!\u003C/p>\u003Cp>&nbsp;\u003C/p>\u003Cp>While the ignorant sleeps, goes round town drunk and making merry ; the intellectual is awake.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>&nbsp;\u003C/p>\u003Cp>No doubt the scripture ( Solomon) hails the life of the “ labouring man!” &nbsp;\u003C/p>\u003Cp>&nbsp;\u003C/p>\u003Cp>Ecclesiastes 5\u003Cbr>KJV\u003Cbr>12 The sleep of a labouring man is sweet, whether he eat little or much: but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>&nbsp;\u003C/p>\u003Cp>Yes, the ignorant sleep soundly! So long as he can get what can buy him kenkey so be it , tomorrow will take care of itself. To him, it is one day at a time!\u003C/p>\u003Cp>&nbsp;\u003C/p>\u003Cp>Beloved, celebrity life is a vanity and a deceptive life.
