Ecclesiastes 9
KJV
5+ For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.
I have waited the whole day expecting to read from any tabloid what this day is noted for but to no avail.
Today 17th April 1967 was the day Lt. Gen. E.K. Kotoka died as a result of the abortive coup attempt by some junior officers of the military led by Lt. S. B. Arthur.
This took place some fifty -eight years ago! As the Bible says this event, its initiators and victims are all long forgotten!
Beloved, even so, shall we all be forgotten fifty-eight years from now. The majority living at that time will not remember us.
Life will go on as it is today with no one remembering who we were! People’s interest and attention would be as it is today on the economy, the fuel price, the exchange rate etc, and how to put food on the table.
So, enjoy and make yourself happy while you are alive today! I am going to get myself some light -soup to drink! For we brought nothing into the world and we shall certainly carry nothing away.
Nobody will remember us fifty years from now. Gen. Kotoka died on 17th April 1967 exactly 58 years today life goes on as it was before!
