And it is this, that the book of Ecclesiastes must be carried along every day for reference purposes! Why? It’s about daily wisdom that relates to real-life situations! Also, it provides a quick guide, insight, and foreknowledge anytime you find yourself in a crowd or a strange situation. \u003C/p>\u003Cp> \u003C/p>\u003Cp>From the verse above you can tell a foolish, empty, hoodlum, political party foot soldier “ jandam “ etc speaker from the opening words that come from his mouth! You can also tell the conclusion of his presentation or speech! With this, if you have a remote control in hand you can switch off or change the channel. \u003C/p>\u003Cp> \u003C/p>\u003Cp>( I do this very often, I know you also do this since not many have time for foolery!) \u003C/p>\u003Cp> \u003C/p>\u003Cp>I remember when I was a student learning to speak publicly I was taught among other important things to give attention to my opening remarks because the “wise” in the audience will stay or leave ( switch off or on) after hearing my opening statements. \u003C/p>\u003Cp> \u003C/p>\u003Cp>This is exactly what Solomon is saying to us! I must admit or rather confess that I’ve used this to assess many speakers be it in the church or elsewhere! In typical Ghanaian parlance, we say “ sè usû betô à nframà do kań! If a lesson to be delivered is worthy or a waste of one’s time is seen from the introduction! \u003C/p>\u003Cp> \u003C/p>\u003Cp>Even if you are watching a telenovela you can tell the end from the opening remarks or episodes! Yes, ask any sister! The same the wise apply to public discourse. \u003C/p>\u003Cp> \u003C/p>\u003Cp>So what then is the way forward? What is the advice? \u003C/p>\u003Cp> \u003C/p>\u003Cp>To speak at any public gathering you must first prepare very well, review and revise your opening remarks or comments  Your introductory presentation helps the “wise” know what lies in store and decide to stay or leave ( “leave” here means he would rather read WhatsApp messages, go to TikTok etc!) ! Surely they will not walk out of the room \u003C/p>\u003Cp> \u003C/p>\u003Cp>Opening remarks or statements are the key to your mind and help identify you as a worthy person worth listening to. Take it or leave it this is a fact and a truth. \u003C/p>\u003Cp> \u003C/p>\u003Cp>I want to believe that Solomon wrote this after sitting through a presentation made by a speaker at his palace! He wrote it to serve as a warning and a guide to us the future generation; so please take his observations seriously if you want to speak in the open! \u003C/p>\u003Cp> \u003C/p>\u003Cp>The wise in the audience will stay or leave after hearing your opening remarks  so work hard on this  aspect of every public engagement\u003C/p>\u003Cp> \u003C/p>\u003Cp>A thought to share; and a word to the wise!  \u003C/p>","2026-08-12T15:45:41.978Z",1786549646622]
