It’s All A Matter Of How You Run!

Hebrews 12

KJV

1+ Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Athletes will tell you how tense and anxious they feel in the few moments before a race begins!

Students entering the examination hall to write their final decisive papers will tell you how tense and anxious they feel

Almost everyone feels the same in any given situation where he/she is uncertain of the outcome.

The same state and situation we’ve found ourselves in as we enter the new year. Uncertainties galore is how someone described it!

How we start a race is equally important as how we end it. With tact and planning a race may not pose a challenge that can not be overcome if proper planning precedes it. So these few “ hours “ of the year are the time to do exactly that. Spend time to think through, pray, consult, talk to the spiritually minded , tap into their wisdom etc

I sat at home throughout yesterday thinking and praying seeking “guidance” and “direction”. Some called to ask what my thoughts and plans are for the year. I told them “ I am waiting for direction, it has not yet come!” They asked “From whom?” I said “ from above !”

The Hebrew writer says “Let us run with patience the race that is set before us,” In like manner let us begin the year with patience, and not be in a hurry.

Let us “ walk “ in the first few days of the month feeling and fashioning our ways and plans! Let us hasten, yes but “hasten slowly”! Run, yes but “ run with patience“

Use the few days to “ walk “ around and make sure you are certain, before you begin the race!

A “race” of 365 days, which translates into 8,760 hours surely must be undertaken with proper planning. A well-thought-out strategy is required else one will give up midway.

So the advice and admonition is “ run with patience” the race that lies ahead of you. Pay attention to details, exercise extreme caution when dealing with people. Physical and spiritual scammers will display their “wares”  so be careful and vigilant   You’ve heard of the expression “ buyer beware”!  Yes.

Even as I write some “scammers” are at work trying to “scam” me by creating the impression that a fault I have is difficult and can not be resolved quickly and easily.

I grant them their ignorance, they don’t know that they are talking to an engineer, who knows what the problem is but has called them out because the State required that he does so.

Be vigilant and wise both physically and spiritually , the race has just begun!
