If I Had Known

By John Tamakloe

If I Had Known

Proverbs 27

KJV

1+ Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

This is a cautionary warning to every Kweku, Kafui and Kwame; to drum home to us that all the days are not equal. They are 24 hours each but their contents are never the same.

Not every investment in whatever will yield the desired results, so do not expect more than necessary.

Some have invested in their families with expectations of a bright future only to be disappointed Others have invested in wives, husbands, and children but to no return. Yes! Nobody knows what tomorrow will be.

If I had known is a way of expressing one’s regrets when an investment did not yield the expected return. Disappointments, regrets and worries have sent many to their graves earlier than expected

So let this cautionary warning serve as a guide not to expect but to be content with your lot, however it may be.

Here is how someone put it, “ blessed are those who do not expect, for they shall never be disappointed “.

Disappointment and regret are written on the faces of many today because they thought every day was the same.
