Concerning Gifts And Their Uses

By John Tamakloe

Concerning Gifts And Their Uses!

Psalms 21

KJV

2+ Thou hast given him his heart's desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah.

4 He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever.

This morning, in a chat with a sister, we both acknowledged the day as a gift and wished each other a blessed day. But before then came the question, “How do we spend a gift?” What use?

How beneficial a gift is depends on us. We’ve just received a gift of 24 hours! Before it expires at midnight today find out what you’ve been able to do with it.  Do this with a pen in hand and paper by your side.

Beloved, these are questions many have never thought of nor asked themselves! Is it not true that most don’t put to good use any gift they received? When I was a student in the UK, there were county newspapers that advertised sales of goods. Some advertisers list goods they are offering for sale as “ unwanted gift!”  Simply they don’t know what to do with them!

In our case, some of the gifts we receive are left to collect dust on tables, kitchens etc. If they are clothes they are left on hangers in wardrobes unused.

Today is a gift what will you do with it? What you do with it will determine your future. Remember, today is what yesterday you called tomorrow! You had plans for it, therefore put them into action today!

To help you manage gifts here is what I do. Whenever I receive a gift I sit back and think about what to do with it to improve my life! I think through to find out how best the gift can help me achieve a goal-add value to my life. This is what every gift we receive should be seen and regarded.

It is the proper and appropriate use of a gift that enhances life which we call a blessing. If today which is a gift will be a blessing to you then think and plan how to use it. Do this before you step out, make a list of priorities and see them through.

I’ve been doing this for years and I have found it extremely helpful. I therefore recommend this approach to you. Make the most out of every day.

Enjoy the gift of Today. While doing so please do not forget the Giver. Pause to give Him thanks!
