Are We Safe? : A Personal Experience
Luke 12
KJV
3+ Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
We live in an era when private conversations are no longer private. Even among close friends, privacy and confidentiality are gone. We find this at workplaces, family settings, and even in the church!
The above scriptures came to mind when I became a victim of circumstance. I had a private conversation with someone about a neutral issue of no consequence, only to be told by some that they were in possession of my conversation.
What was most worrying was that this privately recorded conversation was played at a meeting to the hearing of many, it was the agenda for discussion! Literally, I was put on trial, convicted and sentenced in absentia! Hmmm!
Do you know what the sentence was? Keep away from him!. To this day I've not finished serving
their sentence! Yes! How long the sentence will last I don't know. Thankfully I have prepared myself for all kinds of imprisonment, be it social, economic or political!
Was the Lord by His words which you’ve read foretelling what we are experiencing today? I believe so!!
Growing up I’ve heard proverbs that cautioned us about conversations held in private. One such proverb says “ walls have ears “.
As a teenager, I took it literally and laughed it off! As I matured it hit me hard to the face on one occasion when I was told what I had told someone in private about my displeasure with some developments. Read some of my experiences.
I’ve been to meetings where some have dialed people outside the meeting and had their smartphones on for the other party to hear what was being said!
I’ve also made private calls to some who apparently had their call recording app on to record our conversation!
Also on several occasions while preaching I’ve had smartphones placed in front of me to record my messages! On another, Ive had my private chat messages forwarded to others unknown to me.
Yes, technology, like money is neutral it is how one uses it. Just as money can be used for good or bad purposes the same is true with technology!
In all things whether recorded clandestinely, or openly for positive or negative purposes say what you can stand by and confirm when confronted with them.
Do not be afraid, Truth is painful but it will stand the test of time! You’ll lose face and friends but these show that they are not genuine friends after all. Eat with them but use a long spoon! Yes.
Where possible and practicable record yourself, keep copies of any chat or messages you’ve exchanged with others. I’ve had chat messages taken out of context and forwarded to someone who used them against me.
Beloved, life is a perilous journey not many with whom we travel on the bus are genuine and sincere. So be careful do not trust or credit every passenger.
My experiences I share with you!
