Abbreviations /Codes

Matthew 24

KJV

15+ When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

Social media is a “ jungle “ full of several unknowns especially abbreviations and codes! I came across a page recently where most of these abbreviations and codes were expanded and explained.

Hmmm, a few days ago I had an Emoji greeting from a beloved friend so I also replied only to be told that I used the wrong Emoji! I had thought corresponding emojis are acceptable and are the same.

Abbreviations and codes are equally found on the pages of scripture as per what you’ve just read above ! Daniel has couched some truths in a coded form which the Lord alluded to and linked it to the fall of Jerusalem!

Social media codes such as OTP, OVA used by Mtn were a mystery to me until I overheard a brother explaining it to someone   One time password ( otp), one-time verification password ( OVP) at least these are what I heard they may be wrong I don’t know.

But what is their essence to my article? It’s the “one-time "aspect that concerns me. It’s never repeated

Beloved, there are some “one-time events” that never repeat themselves so when it comes to them you observe them to the best of your ability.

For example, nobody buries his/her father/mother etc, twice so when such occurs put in your best for it is a farewell that will never repeat itself.

For example if you spend a hundred cedis on your mum/dad etc each month ; multiply it by a year and use it to bury him/her it’s your monthly support which you’ve paid  in advance! Weird thinking you’ll say but that’s how to see it!

I’ve used this particular example to explain to those who criticise funerals and say they are expensive! I know you’ll disagree with me but what I’ve said is the understanding and the mindset etc of those undertaking the funeral.

To them a “one-time event, occurrence etc, never to be repeated” must be observed and celebrated, this leaves a lasting memory.

The other example though minor is your birthday! Though this keeps repeating itself as long as God allows what makes the day different and one-time is the year.

Today 11th August 2026 will never ever come again if it ends today at midnight. It’s past and gone for good and it is for this reason that you must/should celebrate it as best as you can

Say goodbye to it in a grand style, wear your best, eat your favourite meal, laugh the best laugh you can! Be the happiest person you’ve ever been! Who knows it may be your last!

My dear reader any “OTP” or “OVP “ that pops up in your life celebrate it to the highest! Enjoy the day if it is your birthday today.

A thought to share! Yè bè wû entî! 🤣
