A Seat At The Table!

A  Seat At The Table
Luke 22
KJV
29+ And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;
30 That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

I’ve often watched with disappointment the lengths at which people go just to trend or catch the attention of others, especially those in authority.

Some strive to get closer to political appointees just for a photo shoot, after which their faces beam with broad excitement and smiles!

Another group strives to get invited to functions where the “ who is who “ in Ghana are assembled with the TV cameras zeroed on them. They do these just to get what I call  a “ seat at the table !”

Paul likened this behaviour to a worldly race where the winners receive crowns that fade or flowers that wither.

From the above scriptures, beloved the Lord promised  those who toil, labour and  suffer with and for  him a “ seat at the Table “

Luke 22:28-30
NIV
[28] You are those who have stood by me in my trials.

[29] And I confer on you a kingdom, just as my Father conferred one on me, [30] so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Hallelujah, we have a free pass which guarantees us “ a seat at the Table “ in His Kingdom! A seat we never lobbied for but just stood up , for and by Jesus! No frantic effort is required to get us a “ seat at the Table” it is simply our obedience.

2 Timothy 4
KJV
8+ Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

If you should ever desire “  a seat at the Table”  let it be that of Christ, and not that of the world.

Maranatha!
